Mountain Dew Free Flow Tour
Hosts Skateboarding Jams at Local Skateparks Throughout U.S.
Purchase, NY - Mountain Dew, in conjunction with Vans,
Transworld Skateboarding Magazine, and Media Skateboards, is launching
the Mountain Dew Free Flow Tour - a grassroots oriented tour bringing
skateboarding jams to local skateparks across the U.S. this summer. Local
skaters from each region will be invited to Show Up, Skate, and Get Sponsored.
The Mountain Dew Free Flow Tour kicks off in Cleveland,
OH with the first event to be held at Chenga World located in North Ridgeville,
approximately 25 minutes outside Cleveland, on Saturday, June 8, 2002.
From June through August 2002, the Mountain Dew Free Flow Tour and its
three-person crew, all skaters themselves who are dedicated to running
top-notch grassroots skate jams, will travel to twelve regions (see schedule
below) within the U.S. in a customized Free Flow truck to host additional
events.
The Mountain Dew Free Flow Tour contests will be run in
a jam style format, offering sessions for different age groups. Three
prize packages will be awarded at each stop and winners will receive a
cash prize of $250, a year supply of Mountain Dew, Free Flow gear and
apparel, and they will be included in a photo shoot for www.mountaindew.com.
Additionally, as part of the Mountain Dew Free Flow Team, the winners
will have the opportunity to aid in the development of future Mountain
Dew skateboarding programs and projects.
All participating skaters, regardless of whether or not
they earn a spot on the Free Flow Team, will take home cool Mountain Dew
Free Flow Tour giveaways, and pro skaters, including Mountain Dew and
Vans sponsored athlete Mike Frazier and members of the Media Skateboards
team, will attend select tour stops to hang and skate with participants
and sign autographs at a post-event party.
