s pay cheque. They will be joined by Simon Nicholson (Durban), the 2000 US pro surf series champion, and Jeffreys Bay local and former SA champion Bradley Bricknell who have been allocated wildcards in the event.

The Billabong Pro is the fourth stop on the nine event other ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the global circuit that deines the annual world surfing champion. An 11-day waiting period, from July 17 - 27, will be used
by the organisers to choose the optimum conditions in which to run the approximately 30 hours of competition required to deine the winner.
