Heres the deal !
Since most of us spend our time at work sitting on our
@#! the crew at the boarding network stole an idea frim an industry
mogul. The idea to surf everday in May. Why, why not ! well really to
get in shape for summer and get back to the roots of what got us involved
          in this industry.

We here at the boarding network have decided to make the month of May
a rebirth and beginning to get back to what started all of this, our
love of surfing. It is also a great time to shed the winter coat, clear
the head, and get ready for summer. So we have vowed to surf everday
          in May.

The rules are you must catch and ride at least three waves. Some of
us have to go the river in May but we are going to bring our boards
and do some freeboarding so that will count. Its simple stand up and
ride three waves every day in May...

Join us, make the commitment, surf everday in May.

Send in your pics, reports, etc. We will have a daily update or so (at
least everday will be documented here on the website, it might be a
day or 2 late if the waves get good (pray now) but check back everday
for a report. Send your pics and reports to Sliderz@boarding.net.

        Day 1
          Wednesday May 1, 2002
        Location: North Bolsa Chica, HB
          Time: 9:30 am
          Session Length: 1:surf
Crowd: medium until 10 am, then all the foam had to go to work.
Only us and a one other longboarder.
Summary: 2-3 feet, lined up but
          a few peaks, Fun.
Actually looked pretty weak at first, was cussing out the news guy who
said 2-4NW swell?, but it got better after paddling out , very light
wind with a slight texture, (we are not in the islands so we will be
measuring faces not backs) it was 2-3 ft with a few larger sets, maybe
chest high, more of a wind swell, maybe a bit more. Water was chilly
about 63 degrees. Surfed with the Scott (hes real stylish and rips)
and a few friends. It was fun, hit a few lips got a few turns in, felt
good and it was about time to get back in the water. photos below
