Catalina island Surf n Fishin safari

Location: Catalina island, backside ?
Time: 2 sessions: first session Saturday, May wake evening at 6:45pm. Second session Sunday morning May 19, 8:45 am
Session Length: each about half hour.
Crowd: just me and 3 boogie boarders Saturday evening, Sunday morning surfed all alone as the boogie boarders slept on the beach.
Summary: 1-2, surfed a little cove that from the back looked like nothing was even breaking. It is a known surf break and I was going to catch 3 waves no matter what ! But there was a fun short walled little wave that broke. Sandy gravel bottom clean clear water. Even dipped my head into a crispy little barrel. The takeoff was near a large boil by a rock and it was fun, kind of dumping but there was a small section to race before closing out...Almost didn't make the every day in May, but found this wave on the way into the anchorage after a day of fishing, caught 5 waves, had a blast and kept the dream alive ! photos arent that great, we had a low battery and a drunk photographer, but the proof is there, no photos for Sunday morning because no battery for the camera ! ...photos below:
